Life is messy

Recently I started to listen to a podcast and it got me thinking about a lot of things.

One of the most important ones was the way I live my life with trauma.

People are •sometimes• amazed all that I accomplish and I wonder how I do it.

Yeah there are the tips, the suggestions, that advice, but REALLY how do I handle it and not look like a semi-crisis has happened.

The truth..

I struggle but I break things down to the tiniest possible step and just work on each tiny step.  This way I don't get overwhelmed (which happens), I don't emotionally shut down (freeze), I am aware of my actions (not really in automatic pilot), and I can applaude my efforts (even the mistakes).

So what does this look like?

Here is a diagram of what I do to get things done (and still look cool as a cucumber):

It's a long process and time consuming but my goals get done and I am focused.

Are there set backs? ALL THE TIME

But I have a plan of action of how to get to my goal and the set-backs don't interfere with that.

So the next time you are feeling overwhelmed or stuck, break down that barrier to your goal, to the tiniest steps, so that each step can get done.

Life is going to come at you strong and hard just like it can be fun, might as well have some plan of action to achieve your goal.

Empower yourself to keep going, the light at the end of the tunnel is just half the journey, the other half is getting there.
